Eager Top Chef fans are just hours away from finding out who's won the Washington DC season — but if you're dying to know early, you can find out who wins right about now. Why? Because in gearing up for the season finale, it appears Bravo's online team has inadvertently revealed the show's winner. Let's Dish: What Do You Think of Top Chef 7 so Far?

Posted By Food on Jul 29, 2010 at 11:30AM

In a previous life (or at least what feels like one), Thursday mornings used to be Top Chef talk time at the Sugar office. We would hem and haw over which Voltaggio brother made the more appetizing dish, or laugh over Fabio Viviani's unintentional jokes.

But these days, there is no commiserating over the bad judgments that took place on Bravo the night before. Many of the contestants, it seems, are much older and just care to promote their restaurants. The biggest drama of last night had something to do with stolen peas — at least that's what I think. Even Tom and Gail seem a little disinterested. As PartySugar put it: "The best thing about last night's episode was the hot young politician."

I couldn't agree more; in fact, I don't even care who wins this season. Like I said before, I think the show has lost its luster. What do you think of Top Chef: Washington DC so far?

Top Chef: Just Desserts Announces Sweet Judge Lineup

Posted By Food on Jul 1, 2010 at 11:30AM

On last night's installment of Top Chef: Washington DC, award-winning pastry whiz Johnny Iuzzini judged the pie quickfire — and revealed he'll be head judge on the forthcoming Top Chef: Just Desserts.

Joining Iuzzini and Gail Simmons, the host of the new series, will be Hubert Keller (a runner-up on Top Chef Masters) and DailyCandy editor-at-large Dannielle Kyrillos.

I'm surprised with the lineup of judges yet, at the same time, not surprised at all. It remains to be seen what kind of insight they'll lend to the evaluation process. What do you think of the announcement? And what are your thoughts on last night's Top Chef 7 episode?

Are You Excited For Top Chef Seven?

Posted By Food on Jun 16, 2010 at 10:30AM

Bravo's Top Chef Masters has come to a close, and you know what that means: it's time to get ready for Top Chef: Washington DC!

On the one hand, I'm excited for the earlier show time, new judge Eric Ripert, and confirmed guest judges House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and White House chef Sam Kass. Perhaps even more suspenseful, however, is the prospect of more guests we don't know about — maybe a cameo from celebrity fan Kate Winslet, or even from the First Lady herself?

On the other, I must admit I'm sort of tiring of the whole Top Chef franchise, which has lost some cachet now that it's expanding to encompass everything from Top Chef Junior to Top Chef: Just Desserts. Tell me: how will you vote with your remote?

Good or bad, we know you'll have a lot to say, so that's why we're debuting a new Top Chef group in the YumSugar community! It'll be the spot to check out action shots, talk new favorite chefs, and dish about last night's episode.

To discuss the show, head on over and share your knowledge with the new group. I'm currently weighing in on Govind's use of Cheetos and Slim Jims. What are you waiting for? Check it out now!

Tonight, Bravo debuts its second season of Top Chef Masters at 11 p.m. With 22 chefs and four judges, it's sure to be an interesting competition. However, I sometimes thought the first season was a little boring, and I'm hoping this round will be more exciting. How about you? Are you looking forward to the premiere of Masters?

The Top Chef franchise is back this week with the premiere of Top Chef Masters 2 on Bravo, Wednesday at 10 p.m. The participating chefs were announced in February, and I think it's high time we got to know them better. A few of the chefs are familiar — there's some returning stars from the first season — but you may not be acquainted with the others. So without further ado, here are the Top Chef Masters.
